Psychedelic Peace Sign Party Banner
The idealism of peace is an inspiring motif we long for and crave especially in times of adversary.
Our world is a hostile theatre of manic thinking and feisty flashes of friction. We often think peace is a fantasy as the media protests but deep in the hearts of man is a desire to live in harmony and eternal peace. Some go off-grid to escape the mayhem while; others stand and fight for their freedom and virtual peace. A noble ideal we aspire to create as we are sovereign and believe we are entitled to a tranquil life. You can’t put a price on it neither can you breathe it, taste it, or measure its calming effect. Peace is a luxury in a world of disquiet where love is replaced with fear.
‘So how do you rate peace? Is it a 10 out of 10 need on Planet Earth?’
I think so for our innate wanting of this precious commodity is in demand but often disrespected. For some in countries of conflict, peace is a prayer as their homes, cities, and towns burn and crumble to the ground. And right now war has settled in hotspots around the globe displacing families from their loved ones, pets, and communities. Nothing is ever the same when hate purges the landscape leaving scars in the hearts of those caught in the crossfire. Sadly man continues to solve differences by force and the call to arms is blatantly historic. In 1958, a peace sign was introduced by Gerald Holtom in response to the ‘British campaign for Nuclear Disarmament’ after the use of these destructive weapons in the Second World War. Many lives were lost in war while revolutions ignited bloody massacres.

‘The Price Of Our Lust For Peace’
For example, the French Revolution was a desire for liberty from the monarchial system that ruled this nation for around a thousand years. The French people wanted a new kind of peace that meant a change so a takeover bid led by Napoleon Bonaparte sealed the deal and the outcome was a more liberal republican-style regime. The 60s saw the younger set rebel against the conservatism of the ’50s and the Vietnam War. They were also learning to go within knowing that peace came at a costly price but could be found on a spiritual level of awareness. As humans, we share a desire to live a peaceful life, free of tyranny, control, prejudice, and oppression. Interruptions in our quietude are constant on a Planet of mixed attitudes. We hope the bell will toll as humanity awakens to the error of their ways and creates a collective thinking that peace is the antidote. This requires a softening of how we see and interact with others as a community of shared ideals. Then we can attain the peace we seek on a global stage.
